Who is Anastasya in Genshin Impact?
According to the official introduction, Anastasya is a spirit born of frost. Her early days were spent in Monomakh's service at the court of the Pale Star, a time the introduction compares to the auroras of Snezhnaya: beautiful, and gone one morning. After being resurrected by the Heavenly Principles, she wandered the wind and snow for centuries, searching for the past she had lost and trying to unravel the mysteries of what the text calls a cruel world.
The introduction also states that she came to understand that even her own emotions could be manipulated at will, and that she stopped searching once she could confirm that the person she used to be had truly understood and felt love. In the present, she trusts neither her memories nor her own feelings. A companion quote attributed to "Witch J" describes playing chess against Her Majesty and noticing the sorrow concealed in her eyes.
Is Anastasya playable?
No. As of November 6, 2026, HoYoverse has only released a story character introduction. There is no official kit, element confirmation beyond her role as the Cryo Archon, or banner announcement. Any "Anastasya kit" or "Anastasya banner date" circulating online is not from an official source. We will update this post when HoYoverse publishes more.
How does Anastasya fit into Version 7.2?
Version 7.2 "Hour of Ruin" (released November 4, 2026) adds Archon Quest Chapter VII: Act V "Hour of Ruin" and Act VI "A Yesterday Sent From Beyond", opens Novokitezhgrad and Wingspan Peak, and continues the Holy Soil storyline in which representatives of the seven nations gather in Snezhnaya. The Tsaritsa's character introduction arrived two days after the update. For the full update summary, see our Genshin Impact 7.2 update details and 7.2 release date and compensation posts.
