Genshin Impact pity guarantees a 5-star within 90 wishes on the character banner and 80 wishes on the weapon banner. On the character banner your first 5-star has a 50/50 chance to be the featured character; if you lose, the next 5-star is guaranteed featured. Capturing Radiance raises the overall win rate to about 55% and triggers automatically after three 50/50 losses in a row.
Quick facts
- Character Event Wish: 90 hard pity, soft pity from about 74 (community estimate)
- 50/50, then guaranteed featured on the next 5-star
- Capturing Radiance: about 55% overall win rate; guaranteed after 3 straight 50/50 losses
- Weapon Event Wish: 80 hard pity, 75/25 for the two featured weapons
- Epitomized Path: 1 Fate Point, so your chosen weapon is guaranteed within 160 wishes
- Standard Wish: 90 pity
Does pity carry over to the next banner?
Yes, within the same banner type. Your count and any guarantee on the Character Event Wish carry over to the next character banner, and weapon banner pity carries to the next weapon banner. Epitomized Path Fate Points reset when the weapon banner ends.
What is soft pity?
Players have observed that 5-star odds rise sharply from around the 74th wish on the character banner and the 63rd on the weapon banner. HoYoverse publishes the 90/80 hard pity; soft pity is a community estimate.
Chronicled and Lightrace Wish
Chronicled Wish and Lightrace Wish share one 90-wish pity counter and use 1 Fate Point to target your chosen item.
How many wishes for a guaranteed featured character?
At most 180: up to 90 for the first 5-star and, if you lose the 50/50, up to 90 more for the guaranteed one.
